Brown Platypus Mascot Costume

Brown Platypus Mascot Costume

This Brown Platypus Mascot Costume covers an animal most audiences have never met in person. The soft brown body carries a broad dark bill, round eyes set high on the head crown, and webbed feet, so the silhouette is unmistakable from any angle.

Aquariums, science weeks, and library summer programs use rare animals to start conversations. Four photos show the front, walking pose, bill close-up, and back of the exact costume you will receive, and the custom options below adjust sizing before production. Sizes run from S to XXL, and the Head Only option works for aquarium touch tanks where just the bill and eyes need to appear above the rail.

Why This Mascot Costume Stands Out

• Broad dark bill that defines the profile
• Round eyes set high on the head crown
• Webbed feet that finish the silhouette
• Four-photo listing with a bill close-up

Material & Construction

The head shell is made from lightweight EPE foam, and the interior is designed to be breathable and washable. The outer fabric is a short-hair velvet with a soft plush feel, the lining is polyester taffeta, and the body is filled with polypropylene cotton. Together these materials keep the costume light enough for extended wear while helping the character hold its rounded shape in photos.

Breathing, Vision & Performer Comfort

The head has ventilation openings at the eyes, mouth, and neck area, and the performer looks out through the eye and mouth openings, which provide a clear line of sight for walking and greeting crowds. The lightweight EPE head shell helps reduce strain during longer appearances, and the roomy body cut leaves space for walking, dancing, and posing for photos.

Mascot Costume Size Guide

Height is the primary factor when choosing a size. Weight and body build should also be considered — choose the size closest to the performer's height.

• S: 160–170 cm / 5'3"–5'7"
• M: 170–178 cm / 5'7"–5'10"
• L (Standard): 179–185 cm / 5'10"–6'1"
• XL: 186–195 cm / 6'1"–6'5"
• XXL / Custom: 196 cm+ / 6'5"+

If the performer is outside the standard range, or you want extra room for movement or clothing underneath, choose XXL / Custom and describe the fit in the Custom Requirements / Color / Size / Event Date field at checkout. For a custom fit, please provide total height, total weight, and chest/bust, waist, and hip measurements.

Care & Maintenance

For best results, follow the care instructions provided with the costume. Clean the costume according to the material and construction of each component, and allow it to dry completely before storage.
